Busy, Busy, Busy

My mom and dad were in town last week to help us with a few projects and of course spend time with Drew! I can't believe I didn't get a single picture of them together, but he had a lot of fun with "Rammy" and "Pee Pee" aka Grammy and Grampy. We sewed curtains and pillows, recovered a chair, refinished a dresser for Drew's room, hung curtains in 2 rooms, rearranged furniture, planted flowers, and more! I have A LOT of things checked off my list to do before Brooks arrives after our week of work. I have a few more things to do in his room and then I will have to put up a few pictures of his nursery. I love the way it is turning out!

Little man testing out the new pillows in outdoor fabric that we made.

New azalea and three planters we worked on.

So...after years of wanting hardwood floors, I just covered my living room floors! Although I love the look of them, I do not love taking care of them. They are really dark and show EVERYTHING. We found this carpet remnant at a carpet store and had it bound on the edges and then bought a really soft carpet pad to go underneath it. We love it! It so much more comfortable to sit on the floor and play.
I contemplated picking up all the toys and stuff before I took a picture, but decided against it. Most days, this is what it looks like if not worse. :)

We also hung these curtains in the dining room and moved the living room rug to the dining room. I love the way they turned out!

I had another doctor's appointment this morning and she did an ultrasound again. There was no sign of the arrhythmia at all in Brooks' heartbeat! He is still measuring big. According to the ultrasound, he is almost 5 lbs. already! We have scheduled a c-section for May 23rd if he doesn't make an appearance before then!

Rocks, Paint, and Almost 30 Weeks

A few of our recent activities....

We have this area in our backyard that used to be a rock garden or something, so I went out there and scooped up rocks and dirt and brought them inside. I put a big towel down in the kitchen floor. Of course he loved playing in the rocks! I had picked up some small balls in the Target $1 section and we worked on finding the different colored balls. Surprisingly, I didn't end up with rocks all over my floor.

The bucket ended up on our head. :)

After playing in the dirt and rocks, we painted in the bathtub! I took our Crayola washable paints and put them in a muffin tin and let him paint away. It was really easy to clean up and he loved it. We will have to try it again!
30 Weeks with Drew
29 Weeks with Brooks

I love this picture of my big boy that I took today. I will remember this picture as the end to a great morning! We have had some frustrating days lately, but this morning he was great as we ran several shopping errands. When we got home we took a quick walk and of course we had to take our red balloon.

Forgotten Pics

Sooo....Life back in the South means tornado season in the Spring! I just had to get Drew up from his nap to spend some time in the bathtub. I heard the sirens go off and turned on the news to hear them start talking about possible rotation at a park that is right by our house. I grabbed phones and pillows then grabbed Drew and a few books. Thankfully it passed quickly! I have attempted to put him back to bed, but so far that plan isn't working out. I think I am going to put together a few books and snacks to keep in the guest bedroom beside the bathroom we use for bad weather. I had to put supplies together for hurricanes in Texas and Florida, but I need a tornado kit in Mississippi!

Here are a few pics from the last month or so that didn't make it to the blog earlier.
We attempted potty training for a few weeks. This was my ploy one morning to get him to sit on the potty. Stickers and juice didn't do the trick!
I love this pic of him with the girls while we were in Arkansas in February. He LOVES these girls.
Celebrating my sweet friend Stacey's bday. Drew thought he would help Emma and her mom blow out the candles!

The last few weeks I have tried to have some sort of afternoon activity for Drew for when he wakes up for his nap. It seems to make our afternoons go better if we have something planned for us to do. I have found a couple of blogs that have given me great ideas for activities and so far I haven't had to spend any money. I have just used things around the house.
We painted a few pictures with different shapes from a shape sorter.

The final product.

To say that Drew loves music is an understatement. Hal and I had looked at a Melissa and Doug music set for him but decided on buying something else. Last week, I made him his own set. My cake pans will never be the same. I made two shakers out of rice and paper cups and then wrapped them in duct tape or I am pretty sure that I would now have rice all over my house! (Sorry I can't post the video Grammy. My camera is in his room and I am not going in there!)
Today we are going to try two new activities. We don't have Mother's Morning Out this week because of Spring Break so I knew we would have to do something to keep little man entertained!

Just Me

No cute pics of my little man today. Just a few thoughts.

-I miss blogging as much as I used to. I see it as a scrapbook for our family. I have looked back at the posts from my pregnancy with Drew several times to help me remember things and I am sure I will do the same thing in the months to come. The truth is I just haven't taken the time. If I am on my computer these days it is usually for work and I am usually too tired to pull it out after Drew goes to bed to blog. I am resolving to post more. I want to remember the weeks to come and I want Brooks to feel that I blogged just as much about him! :)
- I am 28 weeks 2 days. Brooks is a little over 3 lbs. or about the size of a small cabbage. Because of Brooks' arrithyma, I am already seeing my doctor every other week. At our appointment last Tuesday, Dr. Meek listened to his heart for some time and didn't hear the arrithyma and then at the very end she did, but it did sound better! My belly has really grown in the last few weeks. It is starting to become difficult to bend over and pick up toys or lift Drew. Other than normal pregnancy woes, I am feeling great and can't believe how quickly May is approaching.
-Drew is changing so fast. It seems as though I have waited FOREVER for him to really start talking and now I hear something new everyday. Is really starting to put things together and cracks us up often. One of his favorite things lately is to do "This Little Piggy" on his fingers. You can't really understand much until you get to the end and he says, "Wee Wee Wee All the Way Home." I think we laugh everytime he does it. Of course it isn't all laughter, we have our fair share of frustrating moments because I don't understand what he is saying or because he doesn't get what he wants. Hal and I are praying for wisdom and consistency in disciplining him. Several friends have given me the advice to really soak up and enjoy my time with Drew over the next few weeks. I am trying to make sure I make an effort every day to spend a little more time than usual reading books, playing with blocks, doing puzzles, or tickling him just to hear his sweet laugh.
-I wasn't able to get the spell checker to work, so please forgive the spelling errors. :)
-Grammy, I will post a cute picture of Drew later in the week.

Puddles!

Little Man was able to test out his new rain boots from Grampy and Grammy this morning. I had a little trouble getting a good pic because we didn't want to slow down!
