Going Private

I am starting a new blogging venture which you will hear more about soon. Once I start the new blog, I am going to make this site private. I will continue to put personal posts up here, but you will need to log in to see them. If you still want to be able to see and hear about these two precious boys, please email(lcramsey21 at hotmailcom) or text me the email/ID address you will be using to access.

I am excited about what I am working on and can't wait to share it with you!

Wild Hair

I was terrified the first time we took Drew to get his hair cut. I remember thinking he would revolt and scream and neither happened. He was great! The wonderful hair cut experiences continued until this summer. We took him in June and I had to end up holding him, but we made it through it. Then July came and it was time for another hair cut. We took him to a kid friendly place in Fayetteville where they can sit in an airplane, fire truck, etc. It was one of those awful experiences as a parent where you just keep repeating, "this isn't happening, this isn't my child" but it is happening and it is your child! We left there with probably the worst hair cut ever not because of the girl who cut it but because of Drew. The bad hair cut combined with sleeping on a pillow in his big boy bed has resulted in a few wild hairdos in the morning. We are taking him again on Saturday. Please pray for patience for his parents. :)

Chunk of Love

I can't get enough of this sweet little man! His chubby rolls seem to be growing by the day.

Both boys were happy to see their daddy on Friday afternoon, but especially Drew! We have had a little bit of the "I don't want a baby brother" relapse over the last week. A little daddy time was much needed for him.

We had a great weekend! Friday night we had friends over for dessert and our time for kiddos to play. Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market where I had to buy an extra tomato when Drew decided to sample one while I was paying for our purple hull peas. :) Sunday we headed to Laurel to go to church with Hal's parents. Ed, Shannon, and Ashley met were also there. They were able to witness Drew try to take money out of the offering plate. Sheesh!! All I could do was laugh. He is quite the character!

Random Friday

1) I miss Random Fridays on my blog. It was a good way to get those random thoughts out. :)
2) I am so in trouble. Facebook is a horrible time eater and now I have found Pinterest. I must pray about the amount time I am allowed to spend on there. Seriously. Sooo many cute ideas!
3) My amazing man bought me a DSLR when we were in Fayetteville. Now I think I am a photographer. My poor children. I thought this one of B was pretty good!
4) Life seems to be settling into more of a routine for us. I realize that as soon as I post this, our routine will change. :) Brooks is eating and napping around the same time every day. He really is a great baby.
5) I have really worked hard on my house this week. I feel like I have used the "I have a new baby" excuse long enough. Actually, I am just tired of excuses. I have been thinking about the Proverbs 31 woman a lot lately. She worked from sun up to sun down. No excuses. No whining for "me time." She just served her family. Joyfully. This blog post has also been encouraging/convicting along these same lines. It is amazing what I can get done when I put the computer (Facebook and Pinterest included) away, turn off the TV, and just get up and start moving.
6) We are looking forward to a weekend where we have no set plans! July has been busy and I am looking forward to trying to make it to the Farmer's Market and whatever else we feel like doing.
7) I often wonder who besides my mother reads this. I blog so that I can remember. I have looked back at the first few months of Drew's life often lately, but I do wonder who else is reading. Maybe let me know if you do. :)

Splash Pad with Friends

Monday morning we headed to the Splash Pad. It was an overcast day and in the 80's and actually felt comfortable outside! Brooks and I didn't sweat to death while Drew played. :) We met our friends the Nicholson's there.

Drew's best buddy
Last summer he was terrified of this thing!

Brooks' Room

Poor Brooks...he is being treated like the typical second child. I had pictures of Drew's room up months before he was born. I still don't have everything how I want for B's room, but we are getting there.

His crib and canvases. My talented friend Shannon did these for us. I LOVED they way they turned out.
The life verse we picked for Brooks. I love having this over his bed and I pray it over him several times a day as I lay him down.
This is a special canvas we did so that we could remember Baby B and share it with Brooks one day. I was studying this passage in Isaiah the week we lost Baby B. These words comforted me as I struggled with the loss but was comforted by who God is at the same time.
Letters I did for Brooks like the ones Sarah had done for Drew. There is also a picture of Brooks' heart chambers with the a steady heartbeat at the bottom showing no arrithyma.
This plane and car were my dad's
This was the inspiration for Brooks' room. This hung in Hal's room when he was little.
These two pictures are family items as well. One was in Hal's in room and one was in Ed's. Notice the little stool at the left of the chest. Drew likes to watch me change B's diaper.
Mom made these curtains for me. We took curtains we had and added the orange fabric
His bookcase (notice a few State items did make it into his room)

Big Boy Bed

Look who is sleeping in a big boy bed!! So proud of our little man. The transition was SO easy! After failing miserably at the attempt in March, we just set up his twin bed a few weeks ago and starting talking about it every day. Last Friday he napped in his bed and we tried it Friday night. He went to sleep fine, so we took the crib down on Saturday. I must admit, I am a little sad. :)

2 months

We had Brooks' 2 month checkup on Monday. He weighed over a pound more than Drew did at 2 months! Crazy, because Drew has always been big. Dr. Edwards said he looked great.

What is Brooks up to at 2 months?
- He has put himself on a 3 hour schedule! He eats, is awake for a little while and then wants to go to sleep until his next feeding.
-He is sleeping in his crib. He sleeps from 5-7 hours and then eats and then goes back down for another 2-3 hours.
-Wearing size 2 diapers
-Wearing 3 month and some 6 month clothes
-Starting to really smile and interact
-Focuses on faces with a really serious look. We keep joking that he is going to be our serious child!

14 lbs. 10 oz.

Brother Play Time

I decided to get the play mat out this morning for Brooks. Of course big brother had to show him how it worked. I started to make him leave Brooks alone, but so glad I didn't. I love these pictures. Yesterday was a hard day with Drew. It was one of those terrible 2 days I hope we don't repeat anytime soon. Sometimes I feel like I am constantly telling him no or telling him to wait.

After a few minutes, he was back to his trains.

Family and Friends

Today was our adjustment day! Drew was missing all the interaction and entertainment he has had over the last few days and so was momma. We had a great trip to Fayetteville and enjoyed seeing a lot of our family and friends and introducing Brooks to them. As usual, we didn't get to spend time with everyone I would have liked to.

Drew LOVED playing with his cousins Landrey and Kennedy. On the day we went to pick them up to spend the night, he couldn't even take a nap, he was so excited!

Playing with Landrey
Getting some attention from his great Maw Maw
All the kiddos with Grammy and Grampy
Heading to his first baseball game.
We met our good friends the Binns' as well as few other friends for the game and fireworks. Drew loved the fireworks. He kept saying "all the colors of the rainbow" and "woohoo, we did it." He would run to this family behind us and get so excited.

On the 4th, we had our friends Donnie and Amy as well as my Aunt Kathy and her boys over for dinner. I had cute outfits for the boys, but it got crazy and I didn't get a pic.
Brooks got hot in his outfit, so this how he spent the night. :)
Drew showed Amy how to use a computer. :)
